These Terms of Service govern your use of Yearlies, the awards ceremony service. By creating a ceremony, joining one, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the service.
Yearlies lets a host turn a group’s inside jokes into an awards ceremony. The host creates a ceremony and shares a link or join code. Guests nominate and vote anonymously from their phones. The results play as an animated reveal, and afterwards the group receives winner cards, certificates, and a keepsake recap. Yearlies is not a social network. There is no feed, and nothing outlives the ceremony unless the host chooses to keep it.
The host creates the ceremony, sets its categories, and controls when nominations open, when voting locks, and when results are revealed. A guest joins with the ceremony’s code and a display name. Guests never create an account, set a password, or provide an email address, and a guest’s identity exists only for the life of that one ceremony. A guest’s votes are never shown joined to their name. That includes the host.
Roasts are the point of the product, and they have a proper target. Categories aim at habits, not at anyone’s body, relationships, or finances. You agree not to use a ceremony to harass, defame, dox, or impersonate any person, whether or not that person is in the room. The host may remove any nomination or category at any time.
We may suspend or remove a ceremony that we reasonably believe is being used to harass someone or to break the law. Where practical, we will tell the host why.
Small ceremonies are free. Larger ceremonies require a one-time purchase of a Ceremony Pass or a Pro upgrade, charged once through our merchant of record. These purchases are not subscriptions. There is no renewal, no card kept on file, and no recurring charge of any kind.
A purchase is refundable in full at any time before the ceremony starts its show. Once the show has started, the purchase is final, because the expanded capacity it bought has already been used to run the night. How the evening itself turns out is not grounds for a refund. The full policy, including how to request a refund, is set out in our Refund Policy. Guests never pay and never see a checkout screen.
The service is provided as is and as available. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free. A live reveal also depends on your venue’s network, your devices, and your friends behaving, none of which are within our control.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the ceremony in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and we are especially not liable for anything your group chat decides about you.
We may update these terms as the product evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision, and continued use of the service after a change means you accept the revised terms. If a change meaningfully reduces your rights, we will make that clear on this page before it takes effect.
